your adventure with the Most High

I am on this adventure with God.

There have been seasons where I neglected Him,
seasons where I rejected Him, and seasons where I questioned His existence.

Yet He patiently, graciously called me to Himself.
I could not deny His voice.

And here is the really amazing thing. You can have your own adventure with Him as well.

An adventure that promises freedom and hope regardless of circumstance.
An adventure that meets you in your kitchen or at the store.
An adventure that doesn't flee at the first signs of our own insufficiency.

You see, there is this God who made you. And He loves you.
When you were in your mother's womb He formed you. He saw you.

And He still does.

He knows what is best for you. He desires abundance for you--freedom from
those same old strongholds that aim to steal your joy and peace.
And the place of freedom begins by faith in the sacrifice of God's Son, Jesus.

OK, I said that name, "Jesus." I know for some, "Jesus talk”
makes you a little uncomfortable. And that's alright.

Here's a challenge. Say His name out-loud. Break the ice.
He's listening. And your questions or doubts do not intimidate Him.

This creator God is holy, righteous, and pure. We are not.

Believe me, you do not have to observe my life for very long to see my many
places of weakness. We fail to live up to His innate standard of perfection.

But because He loves His creation, He sent His own Son as the blood sacrifice
for all of mankind--to pay the debt for sin.

"WHAT?!" you may be asking. I know. It's wild. It's crazy.
But it's how He designed it. Sin must be covered with a blood sacrifice.
For sin to be forgiven, innocent blood must be shed.

This Jesus was the perfect sacrifice--without blemish.

So He died on this splintery cross after being beaten and publicly humiliated,
because He loves you. Then three days later He rose from the dead. He defeated death.
He drank the cup of wrath from the Father towards mankind
and wiped the slate clean…for every man and woman…forever.

We simply have to believe.

Through faith in this work of Jesus, we are then accepted as children of God--
called sons and daughters of the Most High.

As we humble ourselves and admit that He is God and we are not,
He begins a transforming work in the depths of our being.
He gives the gift of Himself to indwell us--His Holy Spirit.
And the results prove miraculous.

There is no life abundant apart from Him. It just doesn't exist.

Money vanishes. People disappoint. Fads change. But the one constant
is this God--the maker of everything. And to know Him is to love Him.

Seek after Him and you will find Him. Get into His Word--the Bible--
and ask Him to reveal Himself. Then hang on tight.
His adventure moves and flows and fulfills the deepest longing.

Do you know Him?
